Feni Development Community (FDC): Expanding a Global Vision for Sustainable Development

Akbar Haider Kiron

The Feni Development Community (FDC) continues to strengthen its position as a dynamic social and cultural movement dedicated to the comprehensive and sustainable development of Feni District in Bangladesh. With an expanding national and international presence, the organization is steadily transforming its vision into action.  The central office of FDC is located in Feni, with metropolitan branches operating in Dhaka and Chittagong. Internationally, FDC has established active branches and representatives in Kuwait,United States,  United Kingdom, Italy, United Arab Emirates, Greece, and Japan. Through these international chapters across Europe, America, Asia, and the Middle East, FDC has built a well-coordinated global network, gaining recognition beyond Bangladesh. The organization’s visionary President, Golam Mawla Chowdhury, and General Secretary, Shanti Chowdhury, are leading the movement with a forward-looking strategy rooted in community empowerment and inclusive growth.  Speaking to this correspondent, President Golam Mawla Chowdhury outlined FDC’s future plans, stating that one of their major upcoming initiatives is to establish a self-employment-based vocational training center. This proposed center will focus on equipping underprivileged, hungry, helpless, and economically disadvantaged individuals with practical skills, enabling them to become self-reliant and financially independent.  FDC remains actively engaged in raising development-oriented demands aimed at improving the social, cultural, educational, and economic conditions of Feni District. Through awareness campaigns, community participation, and collective advocacy, the organization seeks to turn these aspirations into measurable progress.  At its core, FDC stands firmly beside marginalized communities, guided by compassion, social responsibility, and sustainable development principles. By connecting local leadership with the global diaspora, the Feni Development Community continues to serve as a unified platform dedicated to uplifting Feni District and ensuring long-term prosperity for its people.
