Raj Goyal, a Harvard‑Law‑educated former Kansas lawmaker, and Chuck Park hold joint campaign event in Jackson Heights

Raj Goyal, a first‑generation Indian‑American entrepreneur, attorney, and former Kansas state representative, is running for New York State Comptroller. He recently held a joint campaign event in Jackson Heights, New York City, alongside Chuck Park, a candidate for Congress.  The event was moderated by Ali Najmi. Bangladeshi community activist Nabil Islam Gazy served on the host committee, which also included Japneet Singh, Imran Pasha, Khairul Islam Kukon, Mahtab Khan, Mohammed Molla, Juhaib Choudhury, and many other local community members.  Goyal, a graduate of Duke University and Harvard Law School, previously worked with the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and the ACLU. He co‑founded the legal AI company Bodhala and launched “Phone Free New York,” a grassroots effort that helped pass the state’s “bell‑to‑bell” school cellphone ban.His campaign focuses on affordable housing, pension fund reform, anti‑corruption measures, and divesting from fossil fuels and foreign bonds linked to human rights abuses. He has been endorsed by Moms Demand Action and U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal.
